The relics of St Thérèse of Lisieux are touring the country in September, visiting each diocese in turn and will be at Lancaster Cathedral from 28-30 September 2009. This event will be a special time of grace in the life of the diocese and we very much want you, the young people, to be a part of this. St Thérèse is one of the Church’s patrons of young people, dying at the age of 24. Her family life, her search for her vocation, the way she faced bereavement and suffering in her own life, and her own faith has much to inspire us
So on the night of Tuesday 29 September, the Youth Service will be leading an all-night vigil, beginning at 9.00pm and finishing with Mass at 6am on Wednesday 30 September. Besides times of quiet prayer and reflection in the Cathedral, there will be talks, activities, workshops, and space for social time with refreshments through the night.
Would you like to organise a group to attend or contribute to the all night vigil? You may like to lead a section of the prayer time during the night (20 minutes), perhaps run a workshop on a theme relating to St Thérèse’s life, or you may have your own idea.
Please contact us at the Youth Office to let us know you are coming and if you would like to help us lead it.
